Get to know Rochester Rattlers Defensive Player John Lade

July 13, 2017
ROCHESTER, NY (July 13, 2017): We continue our Q&A series with Defenseman John Lade. John is having another solid year for the Rochester Rattlers and is one of the veterans on defensive unit.

Name: John Lade
Position: Defense
College: Syracuse
Number: 40

Check out John’s answers below:

Q: What are your thoughts on playing for the Rattlers and the 2017 season?
I love playing for the Rattlers.  The coaches really establish an atmosphere that is based on family and playing for the guy next to you.  The 2017 season has had its ups and downs. The last three games have been rough, especially with two overtime losses.  Hopefully, we play well this weekend against Boston and get back on the right track.

Q: Did you do anything fun this past weekend with the bye or did you relax and enjoy the downtime?
This past weekend I went to my grandpas farm, where I just relaxed and went to the local dirt track to watch some racing.

Q: Heading into the final stretch of the season, what do you guys need to do in order to get back on the winning track?
In order to get back into the win column, we just need to play like a team. We have a strong bond and a lot of talent, we just need to put it together for 60 minutes.

Q: Favorite pre-game music to listen to?
In pregame I usually listen to classic rock, like Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Boston.

Q: What is your favorite activity outside of lacrosse?
My favorite activity outside of lacrosse is hanging out with my friends and family.

Q: The defense has a great mix of younger guys and some veteran players like yourself, Donny Moss, Mike Lazore, John Galloway, and Joel White - talk about the play with such a great mix of players.
Our defense definitely has a good mix of veteran and younger guys.  The younger guys like Matt Dunn and Jordan Stevens have played well down low, while Greg Danseglio has played solid up top. They have added a youth to our defense that makes it very tough to score against.

Q: Who do you look up to currently and why?
I currently look up to my dad.  He's a great role model and is always there to supply good advice.

Q: What is the one thing that you need on a daily basis?
I really like eggs.  I eat eggs almost everyday.

Q: What was the best advice you were ever given?
The best advice I was ever given was to live each day to the fullest.

Q: What's your thoughts been thus far on playing at Capelli Sport Stadium?
It had been great playing in Capelli stadium again.   It has a great atmosphere that really makes playing in Rochester enjoyable.
