Rattler Rookie Lang Set To Debut This Weekend

The Rochester Rattlers have activated rookie M Roy Lang (Cornell) from the MLL Collegiate Inactive List and used him to replace M Dan Hardy on their roster for their Week Three game against the Chesapeake Bayhawks on Saturday, May 12 th at 7PM in Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland.


Roy Lang was selected by the Rochester Rattlers with the third pick in the second round (11 th overall) of the 2012 MLL Draft.  He was a First Team All-Ivy selection and a First Team All-American selection after his junior year in 2011 when he had 36 points (27 goals – nine assists) and scooped 38 ground balls.  As a senior Lang scored 16 goals and had six assists.  He scooped 23 ground balls, and earned First Team All-Ivy honors for the second straight year.  He finished his career with 91 points and 127 ground balls.  He is expected to contribute as a two-way midfielder in Major League Lacrosse right away.


Lang is replacing M Dan Hardy on the roster due to injury.  Hardy was expected to return to Major League Lacrosse and make his Rattlers debut this weekend after he was activated off of the NLL Inactive List.  He is still working through concussion protocol and was ruled out for this weekend late Thursday afternoon. Hardy has 29 goals and 28 assists for two different teams in his three year MLL career.  Hardy  was a star with the Syracuse Orange, and he scored 83 goals and added 53 assists during his collegiate career.  Hardy was a three time All-American and a two time National Champion with the Orange.


The Rattlers-Bayhawks game will be carried live on Time Warner Cable Sports and ESPN3 on Saturday night.
