Rattlers Announce Multiple Signings

December 11, 2017
FRISCO, Texas (December 11, 2017) – The Dallas Rattlers announced on Monday the following transactions:

    • Attackman Ned Crotty has re-signed with the team for the 2018 season.
    • Defenseman Mike Manley has re-signed with the team for the 2018 season.
    • Attackman Chris Bocklet agreed to a contract with the Rattlers in Player Movement.
    • Jeremy Boltus, Jack Bruckner and John Moderski were all waived by the team.

Crotty, 31, posted the second-most points on the team last season with 33 and his 24 assists ranked third in MLL. A six-time MLL All-Star Game selection, he has 123 goals, 144 assists and 269 points in 93 career games. Crotty has played at least 12 games in every season since 2011 and has tallied at least 30 points in five of his eight professional seasons. The 2010 Tewaaraton Award winner was selected by Chicago with the first-overall pick in the 2010 Collegiate Draft out of Duke, where he left as the program’s fourth all-time leading scorer.

Manley, 29, appeared in just two games for the Rattlers last season, but played in at least 11 games in four of five seasons between 2012 and 2016. He was named the Warrior Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 and shared the honor with teammate Joel White in 2016 when they split the vote. In 56 career games, all with the Rattlers, he has collected 166 groundballs and has 18 points (14 goals, 2 assists). Drafted by the Rattlers with the third-overall pick in the 2012 Draft, Manley was selected to three straight All-Star Games between 2013 and 2015.

The 28-year-old Bocklet tied for second on the Blaze in goals (22) last season and totaled 28 points in 11 games. It was his first season in Atlanta after spending the first five years of his career with Denver. In 2013, he tied for the league lead in points with 55 and set career highs in games (14), goals (42), assists (13), points and groundballs (20). The former MLL All-Star has 128 goals, 36 assists and 164 points in 60 career games since 2012. Bocklet has two older brothers currently in MLL, Mike Bocklet (New York) and Matt Bocklet (Denver), who were both All-Star Game selections in 2017.

Nine Rattlers players filed for Player Movement at the start of the offseason and eight of them re-signed with the club. The deadline for players in Player Movement to reach an agreement with a new team was Dec. 8.
