Rattlers back in playoff hunt with huge win over the Boston Cannons

ROCHESTER, NY (July 16, 2017) — The Rochester Rattlers get back in the 2017 playoff hunt with a win over the Boston Cannons 21-9, for their fifth victory of the 2017 season on Sunday night at Capelli Sport Stadium in Rochester. It was the second win for the Rattlers at home this season. The Rattlers move to 5 & 6 on the 2017 season.

The Rattlers led 5 to 2 after one quarter of play and continued the scoring in the second quarter, going on a 7 to 1 goal run. Rochester led 13 to 3 at the half. Jordan Wolf led the Rattlers with four goals in the first half. 

Yes, Joel White is amazing: Jordan Wolf led the Rattlers with five goals and one assist. Rookie Eric Fannell (Ohio State) returned to action and scored three goals and one assist in the win. Drew Simoneau came up huge for the Rattlers, scoring one goal, winning 23 out of 34 face-offs and picking up twelve ground balls. Simoneau was named the Coca-Cola Player of the Game.

Jordan MacIntosh had another huge game for the Rattlers, scoring four goals. Ryan McNamara also continued his hot streak with three goals and one assist in the win over the Cannons. Ned Crotty scored one goal and had three helpers in the game and Mike Lazore scored two goals for Rochester. Simoneau, Dhane Smith and Ty Thompson each had one goal and Smith had two assists in the win. Donny Moss had one assist and picked up four ground balls.

With the victory over the Cannons, Rochester returns home to Capelli Sport Stadium on Thursday, July 20th against the league leading and defending champion, Denver Outlaws. The Rattlers beat the Outlaws in Denver on May 27th, 16 to 15. Game starts at 7:30 PM.
