Rattlers fall to undefeated Outlaws in Denver

Denver, CO (May 17, 2014) The Rochester Rattlers played their fourth game of the 2014 season on Saturday against the Denver Outlaws from Sports Authority Field in Denver, CO.  The Rattlers looked to continue their momentum following back to back wins and improve to 3-1 on the season. The Outlaws entered the contest riding a 23 game regular season winning streak dating back to 2012.

The Rattlers opened the scoring off a Dave Lawson goal early in the first quarter, but was quickly followed by a Denver surge that resulted in a 4 goal response. Denver went into halftime with a sizable 6-2 lead.

In the second half, the Outlaws showcased why they are the only undefeated team in the league this season. Despite a late game surge by Rochester that made the contest close, the Outlaws pulled away in dominant fashion to end the night with a final score of 14-8 and extend their regular season unbeaten streak to 24 games.

Denver improved their all-time record against Rochester to 5-4. Rochester saw strong performances from Sam Bradman and Steven Boyle who each recorded 2 goals in the game. Former St. John Fisher standout Kyle Denhoff found twine for the first time this season, and continued offensive production was seen from Jordan MacIntosh and Justin Turri.

The two teams will meet again in late June when the Outlaws travel to Rochester on Sunday, June 29 th to take on the Rattlers at Sahlen’s Stadium for a 1:00 pm start time.  Prior to that matchup, Rochester starts the month of June against the league’s newest team, the Florida Launch, with that game starting at 1 pm on June 1 st.  On the 5 thof June, the Rattlers take on defending league champions Chesapeake Bayhawks, game time is set for 7:30 pm and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
