Rattlers look to clinch playoff berth Saturday night

March 18, 2016
ROCHESTER, NY (July 25, 2014)  The Rochester Rattlers return home this weekend in a first place tie (8-3 with Denver) and riding an undefeated home winning streak this season.  They take on the visiting 4 thplace Charlotte Hounds (4-7), who come to town on a two game losing streak.  Both teams hope to use this weekend’s game to continue their march toward the 2014 MLL playoffs.

Rochester will look to solidify their post-season aspirations with a win on Saturday night, and Charlotte looks to hold onto their playoff ambitions for another week.  With a win against Charlotte or a loss by either Ohio or Boston, the Rattlers can clinch an automatic semi-final playoff berth, which will be scheduled for Saturday, August 16 th.  Most playoff scenarios can be determined league wide in Week 12 & 13, while hosting duties for the games may not be determined until the last week of regular season play.

Mark Cockerton is coming off a stretch of impressive games for Rochester, with a total of 16 goals in 6 games and winning another MLL award as the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week in Week 11.  Both teams have players from the FIL World Championships coming back, so a return to full line-ups is in store for both rosters.  For the Ratz, red hot rookie Jordan Wolf will return after a one game absence, and Dave Lawson, Captain Kevin Leveille, Jordan MacIntosh, and Miles Thompson are notable re-additions to the team.

Saturday night’s (July 26th) game will be televised on the MLL Youtube Channel, and start time at Sahlen’s Stadium is 7 pm, gates open at 6 pm.  Call the Rattlers office for more information on tickets at (585) 340-6905 or log onto  Follow us on Facebook or Twitter @RattlersLax.
