Rattlers look to stay unbeaten at home Thursday

March 18, 2016
ROCHESTER, NY (June 4, 2014)  The Rochester Rattlers head into this Thursday evening’s contest with defending league champion Chesapeake Bayhawks with one simple goal in mind, stay undefeated at home.  The Ratz are coming off the most impressive win of their season over the Florida Launch this past Sunday at Sahlens Stadium in downtown Rochester.  The home team was down 8-4 mid way into the 2 ndquarter until the boys in black and gold ripped off 5 unanswered goals leaving the Launch completely baffled going into the half down 9-8.

Rochester never looked back and dominated the rest of the game, chasing starting goalie Brett Queener and then taking it to back up goalie Adam Fullerton.  The Rattlers ended the game 18-11, staying unbeaten at home and had several standouts from the game.  Kevin Leveille came 3 goals closer to the all-time goals record, Dave Lawson also tallied a hat trick and Jordan MacIntosh had a breakout performance with 4 goals.  Defenseman Mike Manley played himself into another nomination and award for Warrior’s MLL Defensive Player of the Week, winning that honor for the second time this season.  The Coke Player of the Game was once again the team’s heart and soul, goalie John Galloway with 12 saves.

The Rattlers will now face a Bayhawks (1-4) team that is desperate for a win as they are on a 3 game slide coming into the Flower City.  The defending champs were one of the favorites to return to the championship game this year, but a long scoring drought has hindered their plans so far this season.  On the other end of the spectrum, Rochester (3-2) is in a three way tie for 2 ndplace in the league standings and continues to add a massive amount of fire power to an already strong lineup.

With the additions of Tewaaraton Award winner Miles Thompson and Division 1 standout Mark Cockerton, along with the massive size and ability of Mark Matthews being added to the mix, the opposition has no choice but to be worried about how to handle all of the offensive firepower the Rattlers possess.

Don’t miss all the action as Rochester tries to make it 4-0 at home this season against the Bayhawks at Sahlens Stadium this Thursday June 5that 7:30pm.  You can call the Rattlers front office for more information on game tickets at (585) -340-6905, or through Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000 or online (BUY TICKETS HERE)
