Rattlers manhandle Boston, take regular season title!

March 18, 2016
BOSTON, MA (Saturday August 9, 2014)  The Rochester Rattlers were out to prove that the prior week was most likely a fluke, losing to the Ohio Machine.  They wanted to make sure to end the season on a high note, and take home first place outright and put a rubber stamp on their success so far.  As Boston hosted at Harvard Stadium, the Ratz weren't looking towards their guaranteed playoff game as they had their focus on beating the Cannons and did so convincingly, in an 18-8 trouncing.

Rookie Miles Thompson led the scoring with 5 goals and 1 assist.  It seemed no matter where he was on the field, he found the net.  One goal in particular, a behind the back shot, brought back memories of his time at the University of Albany.  Kyle Denhoff stepped in and brought his "A" game with 2 goals and quiet and humble, yet powerful Defenseman Donny Moss landed his first goal of the year, a big 2-pointer that seemed to really allow the Ratz to pull away and seal the seemingly easy victory.

John Galloway stood on his head for 3 full quarters, and was relieved by backup Jason Lashomb as a precautionary move to keep Galloway healthy.  Lashomb, a Rochester native, held strong and kept the Cannons at bay when it mattered most.  All in all, the entire roster had an amazing game and showed why they deserved to be seeded #1 in the standings.

The win not only gives the Rattlers the #1 seed, but with an Ohio win it allows Rochester to seek revenge on the Machine, who swept the season series.  The semi-final game will be held in Rochester, NY at Aquinas Institute's Wegmans Stadium on Saturday, August 16th @ 3pm.  Doors will open at 1:30pm and you can order tickets online HERE or call (585) 340-6905 for more details.
