Rochester Rattlers MLL All-Star Game Wrap-up

July 11, 2017
ROCHESTER, NY (July 11, 2017): This past weekend the MLL All-Star game was played in Sacramento, CA. Three Rochester Rattlers were nominated to represent the Rattlers, including Kyle Denhoff, Drew Simoneau and Matt Dunn.

All three had huge games for the Team Stars, including Denhoff and Simoneau, each scoring one goal a piece. Drew also won 19 out of 37 face-offs. Matt Dunn played well in his first All-Star game and was credited with one caused turnover.

We caught up with Matt Dunn on Monday and here is what he had to say about playing in his first ASG:
“Playing in my first all-star game was a great experience - it was incredible to see the support from the fans out west and how the game continues to grow. I am honored to have been selected for this event with some of the best players in the league and extremely grateful for the opportunity.”

We talked with Drew Simoneau on Monday afternoon and here is what Drew said about the ALL-STAR game: “It was a very humbling experience being a DIII athlete and playing with some of the top players and being considered an “All-Star” was something I wont ever forget. The game was phenomenal as there were some 7,500 fans in attendance from what I have heard. It was by far the loudest game I have ever participated in as an athlete, just a testament to the area. The experience as a whole was great as we got some time to hang out with the other players and spend time with them that we normally would not during the season. This was my first time in California, and it did not disappoint. It was hot as it was a little over 100 degrees when we made our way over to the stadium prior to warm ups. It cooled off after half time which made playing a lot more enjoyable as I’m sure for the fans as well. “

Rochester Rattlers Director of Social Media, Brad Bialy did a podcast with Kyle Denhoff while at the airport on Sunday:
Brad also interviewed Drew Simoneau on Monday evening and here’s what Drew had to say:
