Wolf scores 4 goals in pro debut as Rochester loses

March 18, 2016
Delaware, OH (June 14, 2014) The Rochester Rattlers played their seventh game of the 2014 season on the road against the Ohio Machine from Selby Stadium Saturday evening.  The Rattlers looked to continue their success following back to back home victories, and improve to 5-2 on the season. Ohio is 2-4 and off to a slow start to the season, and was hoping to turn their fortunes around against Rochester.

The Rattlers took the early lead from a Jordan MacIntosh goal, and continued to control the first half of the game as rookie Jordan Wolf, appearing in his MLL debut, tallied a hat trick in the first half.  Wolf is a two-time NCAA Division I champion with Duke and finally joined Blue Devils alumni Mike Manley, Justin Turri and Dave Lawson on Rochester’s roster.

Ohio would have a second half surge, limiting Rochester’s chances while capitalizing on their own. The Rattlers had continued production from Wolf, who ended the night with 4 goals. In the end the Machine were too much for the visiting team, as they handily defeated the Ratz by a score of 18-14.

Rochester cannot seem to find a way to shut down the Machine at home, who have never lost to the Rattlers in the Buckeye state. Several positives can be taken away for the Rattlers, Rookie Miles Thompson continues to fit right in, recording his first career hat trick. Veteran Kevin Leveille notched a goal, further adding to his all-time goal leader total. MacIntosh (2), Manley, Turri, and Lawson were among the other scorers for the Rattlers who each had strong performances in the loss.  However, Rochester has yet to win a game on the road this season, while remaining undefeated at home so far in 2014.

The two teams will meet again in August when the Machine travel to Rochester on Saturday, August 2 nd to take on the Rattlers at Sahlen’s Stadium for a 7:00 pm game start.  The Rattlers next take on the Florida Launch on Friday, June 20 thin Boca Raton.  Rochester and its southern rival still remain tied for second place in league standings, with Rochester holding the upper hand as they won the first meeting 18-11 in the Flower City.  Wolf will finally make his home debut on Sunday, June 29 that 1:00 pm at Sahlen’s Stadium.
