Wolf wins Offensive Player of the Week

March 18, 2016
BOSTON (July 28, 2014) Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced Week 12’s Warrior Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week and the Cascade Rookie of the Week today.

This week Jordan Wolf earned offensive honors for his five goal performance, helping the Rochester Rattlers defeat the Charlotte Hounds 13-9 and earn a spot in the playoffs, remaining in first place and undefeated at home during the 2014 season.

Wolf is no stranger to League-wide honors, having earned the Cascade Rookie of the Week twice already this season. This award, however, proves that he can not only stand atop the MLL’s first year class, but atop the MLL in general.

Notching a total of seven points (5 goals, 2 assists) in Rochester’s hosting of the Hounds, Wolf earned the most goals out of any other player on either roster.  The speedy attackman has an astonishing 26 points (17g, 9a) in just 5 games with the Rattlers, and is certainly a top candidate for Rookie of the Year.  The only player on the Rattlers roster with more points is Midfielder Justin Turri, with 32 points in more than twice as many games at 12.

Wolf and the Ratz play again this weekend Saturday, August 2 ndas they host the fourth place Ohio Machine (6-6) at Sahlen’s Stadium in downtown Rochester.  Ohio won the first meeting 18-13 over the visiting Rattlers back on June 14 th.  Rochester looks to even the series and gain some revenge, keeping Ohio at bay in the chase for the playoffs.

The Rattlers sealed up a playoff berth this past weekend by defeating the Hounds, but it remains to be seen if they can seal the deal on hosting duties in Week 13.  Rochester will guarantee a home playoff game in the MLL semi-finals with a win or a loss by either the NY Lizards or Denver Outlaws.  MLL semi-final games will be played on Saturday, August 16 th.

Don’t miss all the action when Ohio comes to town this Saturday night at 7pm at Sahlens Stadium on Fan Appreciation Night.  Tickets can be purchased HERE or by visiting the Sahlens Stadium Box Office.  Call (585) 340-6905 for more information and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook or Twitter @RattlersLax.  Remember to use #RatzTitleHunt when tweeting!
