Major League Lacrosse has announced the weekly award winners for week 5 of the 2013 season, which concluded on June 2. The winners are chosen every week by the League, and are based on outstanding in-game achievements. Rochester’s John Galloway was a brick wall in the Rattler’s 9-7 win against the Ohio Machine on Sunday, June 2nd, and has earned the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week award for his efforts.
Galloway anchored the Rattlers' defense in a 9-7 victory over the Ohio Machine on Sunday evening. Galloway stopped 16 shots to earn his second win of the season, and to keep Rochester fighting for fourth place in the standings. Against Ohio, Galloway collected eight saves per half and finished with a .438 save percentage. This season Galloway has stopped 44 shots en route to a .506 save percentage. Currently in his third year at Rochester, he has amassed 362 MLL career saves.
Rochester next takes on the Boston Cannons in Kennesaw, GA on Friday, June 07, at 8:00 p.m. (ET). This game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
