Mike played his high school lacrosse as a standout All-American defenseman at Penn Yan, and continued his dominance at Duke University. From ACC Rookie of the Year to All-American, Manley remained as one of the top defenders in the country. Manley was drafted as the 3rd pick in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft by Rochester.
PROFESSIONAL: 2012: Manley appeared in 11 games with Rochester, as one of the Ratters’ top close defensemen. Mike picked up 35 ground balls.
DUKE: Mike was a three-time USILA All-America pick, earning second team honors in 2011 and 2012 and third team recognition in 2009. He played in 75 games and started 74 of those at close defense. Mike was the 2007 ACC Freshman of the Year, and collected 153 ground balls and 57 caused turnovers in his career. 2012: Played in 20 games and started 19 on close defense ... USILA All-America second team ... led all Duke players with 27 caused turnovers ... ranked second on the team in ground balls with 52 ... also added two goals and two assists for four points ...team captain ... had at least one ground ball in 17 games. 2011: Missed season due to injury 2010: Started 19 games on defense … USILA All-America third team … selected to the NCAA All-Tournament team… helped lead a defensive line that allowed 8.98 goals per game … finished the season with 44 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers … registered at least one ground ball in 18 games 2009: Played in 18 games… All-ACC Tournament Team selection … helped anchor a defense that allowed 8.42 goals per game. 2008: ACC Rookie of the Year selection ... played in and started 18 games ... Scooped up 23 ground balls on the year ... part of a Blue Devil defensive unit that led the ACC and ranked eighth nationally against the score (8.30).
