Zach is from Ontario, and before Johns Hopkins, played lacrosse for the powerhouse Hill Academy. At The Hill Academy, Zach was Two-time Athlete of the Year selection and a team captain as a senior. Zach quickly became a standout attackman for Johns Hopkins, and even led the team in points in 2012. Zach was selected by Rochester in the 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft with the 60th overall pick.
JOHNS HOPKINS: 2013: Played in 11 games, started 10…Scored 12 goals and added 13 assists for 25 points…Scooped up 12 ground balls. 2012: Led the team in points (53) and assists (26) and finished second in goals (27)… Totaled at least one point in 15 of 16 games and had 11 multi-point games and seven multi-goal games to his credit…One-handed goal against #1 Virginia was #7 in ESPN SportCenter's Top 10 Plays for Saturday, March 24…Behind-the-back goal vs. Army in the third quarter was the #2 ESPN SportsCenter Play of the Weekend. 2011: Finished second on the team in scoring with 22 goals and 25 assists for 47 points…Ended the season with a career-best 12-game point-scoring streak…Registered at least one point in 15 of 16 games and had eight games with 3+ points…Scored two goals and added an assist in the 12-11 overtime win at fourth-ranked Maryland - earned a spot in ESPN's top 10 plays of the weekend with an amazing behind-the-back goal midway through the fourth quarter that tied the game at 9-9 after JHU had trailed 8-3 in the third quarter. 2010: Played in all 15 games with eight starts at midfield and attack… Finished fifth on the team in scoring with 10 goals and five assists…Top scorer among all JHU freshmen…First freshman midfielder to start a season-opener at JHU since Mark Bryan in 2006. |
