John Ortolani

John Ortolani played his college lacrosse at Division III Endicott College, where he was one of the best face off men in the country. John was acquired by the Boston Cannons, and is a four year veteran in the MLL. Ortolani was acquired by the Rattlers in a trade with Boston that sent away Rochester’second round pick in the 2014 MLL Collegiate Draft. John is currently also a professional MMA fighter, with a record of seven wins and six losses. He has competed at the lightweight and welterweight levels.

Head coach Soudan on Ortolani, He “deserves the opportunity to play every weekend in this league. He's a guy we think has a chance to come in and help us on face offs.”

2012: John played in one game with Boston, going 22-36 in face offs for a .61 percentage.

2011:Ortolani appeared in 2 games for the Cannons in 2011.  In the 2 games he won 27 of 56 face-offs and collected 12 ground balls.  The Cannons went 1-1 in the two games he appeared in. John also won the 2011 MLL Championship this year.

2010:Made MLL debut on July 10th vs Chesapeake. Played in Cannons playoff loss to Bayhawks and added 7 ground balls.

3-time All-New England Selection...2-time All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Selection...Was named MVP of the ECAC Tournament and also tabbed a ECAC All-Star as a senior...As a senior, ranked 2nd in the nation in faceoff winning percentage with 68.7%(261 out of 380)
