Steve DeNapoli #7

Steve was a three-sport athlete at Hewlett High School in Hewlett, NY, and also earned All-American accolades. Steve continued his dominance at Hofstra, becoming one of the team’s top defensive midfielders. Steve was later drafted 30^th overall by the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the 2011 MLL Collegiate Draft.

PROFESSIONAL:

The Rattlers acquired DeNapoli from the Chesapeake Bayhawks for the rights to draftee Joe Cummings and an undisclosed draft pick in the 2013 MLL Collegiate Entry Draft in the offseason. 

2012: Appeared in 13 games with Rochester, scoring 11 goals with one 2pt goal, and added four assists. Also picked up 43 ground balls.

2011: Played in five games with Chesapeake, tallying one assist and picking up 16 ground balls.

HOFSTRA:

2010:Played in all 14 games as a junior…Tallied four goals and three assists on the year… Led the team with 49 ground balls and was tied for second with 13 caused turnovers… Ranked fifth in the CAA in ground balls (3.50)… 2010 Preseason All-CAA selection by Face-Off Yearbook…Team Captain…

2009:All-CAA second team selection… Played in all 15 games and led the team with 63 ground balls…Tallied four goals and four assists…Was second on the team with 14 caused turnovers

2008:Played in all 16 games as a freshman…Named to the CAA All-Rookie Team …Tallied one assist and 23 ground balls on the year.
