The Rochester Rattlers acquired Jay Card from the Long Island Lizards in a Major League Lacrosse Expansion Draft Deadline Day trade. The Long Island Lizards acquired the eighteenth overall pick in the 2012 Major League Lacrosse Draft from the Rattlers.
“We have been following Jay since his days with Hofstra, and were interested in him during the 2011 Draft. We were looking for a specific type of attackman to play in our system. We feel like Jay fills that need for us.” Rochester Rattlers Owner and General Manager Rob Clark said.

Hofstra University
Jay Card was a three-time USILA All-America Honorable Mention with Hofstra University. He was also selected First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association for three years. In 2008 Card was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, and in 2009 Card was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. In 44 career games Card scored 93 goals and had 44 assists for 136 points. He was the fourteenth overall selection in the 2011 MLL Draft.
