BOSTON (August 4, 2014) Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced Week 13's Warrior Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week and the Cascade Rookie of the Week today.
Mark Cockerton continued to be dominant for Rochester’s rookie line-up, earning his second Cascade Rookie of the Week title, and the fifth for the team. In Rochester's loss to Ohio, Cockerton had four goals and one groundball, bringing his point total to 22 for the season, and making him the second most productive rookie on the Rattlers' roster.
The University of Virginia alum has been red hot for the Ratz over the course of his short 8 game tenure so far. Cockerton is making a strong case for Rookie of the Year, along with his teammates Jordan Wolf (28pts, 6 games) and defenseman John LoCascio (34 ground balls).
Rochester looks to close out the season with a trip to the Boston Cannons this Saturday, August 9th at Harvard Stadium. As the Rattlers end the season hoping to maintain their lock on first place, it is official that they are the only team currently holding a guaranteed spot on hosting duties of an MLL playoff game on Saturday, August 16th.
