ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester Rattlers look to avenge two previous losses against the Hamilton Nationals in Saturday’s match-up at 7 p.m. at Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario.
Rochester (0-5) has twice lost to the Nationals (2-3) this season, most recently on Friday when the Nationals topped the Rattlers 19-16 at Sahlen’s Stadium. Hamilton came back in the second half, out-scoring the Rattlers 11-5 following halftime.
Rookie attacker and Webster native Grant Catalino set a Rattlers team record and tied a MLL record for goals in a game with his nine scores on Friday, but it was not enough to lead Rochester past Hamilton. The loss was the second to Hamilton in two weeks for the Rattlers. Hamilton defeated Rochester 14-13 at Sahlen’s Stadium on June 10.
Now, the regional rivals cross the border to battle again Saturday in Hamilton. The Rattlers are looking to avenge two tight losses from earlier in the season and to get their first tally in the wins column.
“We continue to make mistakes in the middle of the field and that is something we have to figure out and learn from,” Rattlers Head Coach B.J. O’Hara said. “We have to limit our mistakes and that is what we are going to address on Saturday.”
A win on Saturday would put the Rattlers back in contention for the fourth and final playoff spot with Hamilton and the Long Island Lizards both sitting at 2-3 on the season. In 2005, the Rattlers started 0-5 before O'Hara guided them to a 6-1 finish to make the playoffs.
Saturday’s game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com and locally on Time Warner Sports.
