Rochester Rattlers attacker Jordan McBride has been named the Cascade Major League Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for Week 5.
Jordan McBride was one of the most prolific scorers in college lacrosse history in his four year career with the Stony Brook University Seawolves. It only took him 2:47 to record his first professional goal on Saturday night as he opened the scoring off an assist from Martin Cahill in the Rattlers 16-14 loss to the Boston Cannons. McBride ended up with four goals and two assists in his professional debut.
Jordan McBride was a four-time All-American at Stony Brook University where he scored 40 or more goals in four straight seasons. As a freshman, McBride had a record setting season with 44 goals and 11 assists for 55 points. He added 41 goals as a sophomore and 48 goals as a junior before netting 41 goals this season. McBride finished his career tenth on the NCAA scoring list with 175 goals and 209 points. He had 42 multi-goal games and 31 hat tricks.
“We drafted McBride in the second round of this year’s draft to come in and score some goals for us. It’s great to see him come out and contribute right away. He’s a player with a lot of potential who has a chance to score a lot of goals for us. Crotty, McBride, and Catalino give us an attacking group with a lot of upside,” Rattlers coach BJ O’Hara said.
The Rattlers are back in action on Friday June 24
