Rattlers Defeat Hamilton 17-10

March 18, 2016
Two weeks ago the Rattlers had lost to the Nationals, 17-8, but Rochester was on the top of their game tonight with a 17-10 win over Hamilton. With Rattlers leading scorer Ned Crotty out with an ankle injury, M Jordan MacIntosh stepped in to help the Rattlers take the win, scoring five of the 17 goals made with Kevin Leveille not far behind with three goals.

The first goal of the game was made by the Nationals but was quickly followed by three goals from the Rattlers shot by players Steven Boyle, Joel White and Kevin Leveille.  The fifth goal was scored by the Nationals with the Rattlers again coming back with another goal by Roy Lang.  The last score of the first quarter was scored by the Nationals Joe Walters, ending the quarter with the Rattlers on top, 4-3.

The Rattlers started off the second quarter with an exciting score by Kevin Drew.  This goal was followed shortly with a two-pointer by Matt Striebel, assisted by Jordan MacIntosh, who after would score on the Nationals unassisted, leaving the Rattlers on top 8-3 with eight minutes to play in the second quarter.  Rochester came in with another two goals by Stephen Boyle and Jordan MacIntosh leaving the Rattlers up 10-4 at half time.  The Rattlers started off with a great half and goalie John Galloway was doing his job keeping the points on the other side of the field.

The Nationals would come into the third quarter scoring two goals in the first seven minutes.  Hamilton would come in with another goal in the second half of the quarter followed with a Rattlers goal by new acquisition Brad Ross.  After another score by Hamilton, Rattlers player Jeff Colburn came in with a goal in the last 30 seconds.  This would end the third quarter with the Rattlers leading Hamilton, 12-9.

The fourth quarter would start off with great defense from the Rattlers, holding the Nationals off until their first goal.  Rochester would get the ball back only for Jordan MacIntosh to score again, this being MacIntosh’s third goal of the game.  Kevin Leveille would make his second score of the game shortly thereafter.  The Rattlers Jordan MacIntosh would again come in with two more goals in the last five minutes and Leveille would end the game scoring in the last 30 seconds. This would leave the Rattlers with a 17-10 win over the Nationals.

Both the Rattlers and Hamilton came into this game with a record of 2-4.  Rochester is now 3-4 going into the All-Star Break.  This will leave the Nationals with a record of 2-5.  The Rattlers defense really came to fight this evening, especially goalie John Galloway with some notable saves throughout the course of the game and player Jordan MacIntosh with an impressive five goals.
