RATTLERS LOOK TO SWEEP SERIES WITH DENVER

March 18, 2016
The Rochester Rattlers host the Denver Outlaws on Saturday July 23 rd at 7PM in Sahlen’s Stadium.  The Rattlers defeated the Outlaws 9-8 in Denver on July 16 th.  Second-year attack Ned Crotty scored two goals and two assists.  Rookie goalie John Galloway recorded 19 saves and allowed 8 goals in the victory.  It was the first victory of his professional career.  He was named the Bud Light Player of the Game and the Cascade MLL Rookie of the Week.  Rattlers middie Jordan Levine scored two goals including the game-winning goal last Saturday night.

Ned Crottyis one of Major League Lacrosse’s leading scorers this season.  His 17 goals is fourth in the league, his 15 assists lead Major League Lacrosse, and his 32 points are second in the league behind Boston’s Paul Rabil who has 37.  Crotty was named to the Major League Lacrosse All-Star team two weeks ago, and was the 2010 Cascade Major League Lacrosse Rookie of the Year.  He leads the Rochester Rattlers in goals, assists, and points.

Crotty’s high profile match-up with Denver’s Brendan Mundorf never materialized in the teams’ first meeting last Saturday.  Mundorf is third in the league in goals(19), fourth in the league in assists (11), and third in the league (30) in points.  Mundorf was held to only one point on one goal by the Rattlers defenders last Saturday night.  He had scored ten goals in his previous four games.

The Rattlers made two transactions this week.  Rochester acquired defensive midfielder Brett Manney from the Chesapeake Bayhawks for a fifth round draft pick (acquired from Denver Outlaws in the Grant Catalino trade).  The Bayhawks and Rattlers also swapped 2012 fourth round draft picks in the deal.  Rochester traded Casey Powell to the Hamilton Nationals for a conditional pick in the 2012 MLL Draft.

Saturday night’s pre-game party begins at 5:30PM with music from local band Catch 22.  There will be $1 drafts and $1 dogs during the pre-game party.  It’s a team photo give-away night.  The Rochester Rattlers are announcing today that the month of July will be  “Give Back Month” to the community that supports both franchises.  Every home game in July the Rattlers will donate 10% of every group ticket sales purchase of ten or more tickets and $1.00 of every full price ticket sold on the day of the game to a local charitable organization.  These are the organizations that will benefit each home game.
