The Rochester Rattlers will travel to Boston, MA to play their final game of the 2013 season as they battle the Boston Cannons for the second time this summer on Saturday, August 10 th at 7:00 PM.

Rochester makes the trip to Harvard Stadium looking to sweep the Cannons for the first time since 2008. Rookie John Ranagan also scored three times in that contest.

The Rattlers will travel to Boston after suffering their most recent defeat to Chesapeake, falling 16-14 to the Bayhawks on August 3 rd. Attackman Ned Crotty tallied four points in that game, but Rochester never led as they dropped their eighth game on the season.

Boston was also in action last Saturday, and looks to end their three game losing streak with a win against Rochester. Boston took on the Ohio Machine on August 3 rd, falling 16-12 to drop to 5-8 on the season. Cannons’ leading scorer Paul Rabil was held scoreless in that loss, but still is tied for second in the league for scoring with 49 points, and Rochester must limit Rabil if they wish to close out the 2013 season with a win.

Faceoff man John Ortolani will match up again at the X against his former Boston teammate and faceoff partner Chris Eck on Saturday. The last time Rochester played Boston, Eck beat Ortolani on 20 out of 32 draws, and Ortolani will look to improve that mark against Boston. With four points against the Bayhawks on August 3 rd, Crotty now has 33 points this season. The All-Star will look to his add to his season total and finish his 2013 campaign with his second highest scoring output of his career this Saturday. After scoring twice against Chesapeake, rookie Dave Lawson now rides a seven game scoring streak. Lawson now has 15 goals on the season, and will look to finish the season with an eight-game scoring streak against the Cannons.

The 2013 MLL playoff field is set with Denver, Hamilton, Chesapeake, and Charlotte all claiming playoff spots, with both Rochester and Boston unable to claim a postseason birth with a win this weekend. Saturday will prove to be the battle for 5 th place, with Rochester looking to end the season on a high note, and finish with a 6-8 overall record.
