The (1-2) Rochester Rattlers will be hosting the (4-0) Boston Cannons in their home opener at Sahlen’s Stadium on Friday, June 1
st at 7:00 PM. In the teams’ first matchup, the Cannons beat the Rattlers 15-3. The Rattlers concluded their three game road trip with a loss to the expansion Ohio Machine, who beat the Rattlers 16-10 in the franchise’s home opener at Selby Field on Saturday, May 19
th. Ned Crotty had one goal and two assists against the Machine, and leads the Rattlers with 6 points on the season.
Friday, June 1
st will feature local band MoChester, sponsored by The Zone 94.1, prior to the opener. The Zone will be broadcasting the game with live remote. MoChester will be playing a 45-minute set at the stadium prior to the game. MoChester is a 4-piece rock/pop driven band that draws music comparisons to a variety of acts including O.A.R. and Incubus. In 2011 highlights included; opening for Barenaked Ladies, filming an entire set for a live television performance for the 3
rd season of WXXI’s OnStage series, and being selected as a finalist or winner in several regional and national competitions showcasing original music.
Gates will open at 5:30 PM for Friday’s game. $1 drafts and $1 hot dogs will be available in the party zone underneath the score board in the open end zone until opening faceoff.
The Rochester Rattlers will be giving away magnet schedules, sponsored by Coca-Cola, to the first 2,500 fans at the stadium. There will be a bounce house available for kids in the end zone throughout the game. Family four packs are available for $40, and include tickets, hotdogs, and sodas. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Rattlers office at 454-5425.
